Well I had been looking forward to this wedding for a LONG time! If you don’t remember their story, visit their previous blog post from Genevieve and Jarrod’s engagement session. They had family and friends who flew in from everywhere, which I always think is pretty amazing. All day it looked like it was going to pour, and at one point it was drizzling, but somehow it held off and it actually turned out to be pretty nice outside! Let me just tell you, Genevieve could have been wearing a potato sack and no shoes and she would have still looked stunning. She made my job a little too easy I think. Jarrod looked quite dashing himself! I think there’s something that just happens to every bride and groom on their wedding day, I don’t know if it’s the excitement, suspense and knowing finally you’re going to party like it’s 1999 that night, but my couples are radiant the day of their wedding!
Their ceremony was held at Fourth Presbyterian Church in Chicago, and the reception and getting ready photos all at the Palmer House. Since we had a tighter timeline, I decided to just take Genevieve and Jarrod around and get shots of them in as many spots around the city as we could possibly cram in. And boy did it pay off. Just walking from one spot to the next I was able to capture some great moments and smiles, and I think they had fun having their “alone” time getting photos done. I know, it’s hard to miss my big paparazzi lens, but you get the picture. (Ha I made a photography joke and didn’t even realize it! I know, lame!)
The floral was all done by Nadine from Fragrant Designs. I met Nadine a while ago, but we’ve never done a wedding together. So I was so glad that I finally was able to work with her. She did an amazing job, and their flowers were gorgeous! I will be doing another blog post with more detail shots of the floral, so hang tight. The day was well thought out and planned by the lovely ladies at An Urban Affair. They had EVERYTHING covered, and then some. If you’re looking for someone to truly take care of you so you don’t have to worry about anything at all, this is the wedding planner for you. Marcia and her team did a great job, which made my day a whole lot easier! Lastly, if you’re wondering where the dresses and tuxes were from, the dress is from a bridal boutique in California called Blossoms from couture by Casablanca in silk. I swear it was made just for her. The girls’ dresses I loved the style and color, were a limited edition Tony Bowls, and the gents were all wearing tuxes from Formally Modern in Chicago. Thanks Genevieve and Jarrod for letting me share in your day. I hope you enjoy all the photos! And hopefully by looking back at all the wonderful spots we took photos at, that will sway your decision to move here permanently!
