Well, this engagement session almost didn’t happen! It was one of those days, where you weren’t sure if it was going to rain, shine, rain and shine. This weather this summer has been a bit unpredictable, and by the time I drove in for their shoot in Lincoln Park Zoo, it was torrential down pours, lightening, and there was even a flash flood warning that spoke to me through my phone and blue tooth that alerted me. It scared the crap out of me! So we were looking for an indoor location, when all of a sudden I parked and it was sunny again….and icky humid. Icky humid is when it’s beyond humid, you’re literally breathing wet air. Icky. The sun came out, and we had ourselves an outside shoot once again, just modified. Don’t step there, there or there, don’t sit on anything, oh, and watch out for dripping trees! But we managed.
Rita and Mike are one of those couples that just fit. And I don’t mean height (as you’ll see from the photos, Rita had on some big wedges that still didn’t match Mike’s tall stature!) I mean they go together, like two peas in a pod, like peanut butter and jelly, well, you get my drift. It’s effortless. How awesome was it for me to photograph them? Well, let’s just say, pretty awesome. Can’t wait for their upcoming wedding at Hotel Palomar!
